So people. What are viruses? Are they living organisms? let's check the definition of living beings. Living Organism-- 1. They are made up of the smallest unit known as cells. 2. They reproduce, using a genetic material called DNA. 3. They synthesize an energy substance called ATP(adenosine triphosphate) and grow using that energy. now let's get back to viruses. they can replicate but they cannot produce energy so they steal energy by infecting other cells. and that's how they replicate. they are really small. even significantly smaller than bacteria. what these viruses do is it 1st infect a host cell then pour it's genetic code to it. and that poor cell doesn't know the difference between what's good or bad code. simply takes viral code and starts producing protein, viral protein. this is how viruses replicate themselves exploiting innocent cells
